MANAGING DIRECTOR
Following
fourteen years of deep sea experience on all vessel
types and in all ranks Capt Brown graduated from Plymouth
University with a BSc(Hons) in Marine Technology and
Maritime Law before spending seven years working
at a senior level in the claims department of a leading
International Group P&I Club.
Nick has worked in the London insurance
and reinsurance Market for the last 14 years. Prior
to his involvement with Seacurus, Nick was Divisional
Director of Financial Risks for QBE International Insurance
Ltd., based in London. At QBE he was responsible for
the underwriting of financial guaranty insurance products
including the credit enhancement of asset backed securitisations
and residual value guarantees of shipping, aviation
and property assets. Nick is also a Director of Convergence
Risk Management Ltd. CRM provides both general and
actuarial consultancy services to the insurance and
banking sectors. Nick has an Honours Degree in International
Shipping and Maritime Law from Plymouth University
and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from
the University of Surrey.
Richard Garratt has worked
in the Insurance / Reinsurance marketplace for 30 years,
11 of which were as an Underwriter and 19 on the broking
side. Specialties range from Aerospace, Marine and
Financial Risks through to Terrorism and War. Most
notable was his role in structuring designing and placing
Firstline which provided innovative pollution cover
for vessels in US waters following OPA '90.
Mike is a highly experienced and resourceful
Insurance and Reinsurance broker with 24 years of market
experience, he has produced and placed business from
both the London and International markets. He has a
detailed knowledge of most disciplines within the
Marine Insurance market together with a broad experience
of the Non-Marine and Aviation markets.
Founder and Managing Director of Elias
Marine Consultants, a professional consultancy specialising
in claims handling and consultancy services in relation
to shipping, insurance and commercial matters. Imad
is predominantly engaged in providing advice and assistance
to shipowners, P&I Clubs and H&M underwriters
and acts as a part-time arbitrator. Having started
his career at Ince & Co in London he now has 16
years of experience in this line of work. Imad has
a Masters in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton
and is the winner of the 1985 Maxwell Law Prize and
1989 Law Society Sheffield Prize.
Qualified as a Chartered
Accountant in 1982, and has been in professional practice
since 1985. Acts as FD in several companies, in which
he has a direct investment, in a variety of fields.
Gained five years invaluable experience investing and
managing a Texas based MGA, handling various marine
insurance covers, underwritten by the London Lloyds
and Corporate market.
Accrued a wealth of experience as
owner and managing director of Shiptalk Media Services,
one of the UK’s leading marine based multimedia design
and development agencies. Rob has established strong
links with marine insurance further to the successful
completion of a number of IT based projects for International
Group P&I Clubs.
