Following fourteen years of deep sea experience on all vessel types and in all ranks, Captain Thomas Brown graduated from Plymouth University with a BSc (Hons) in Marine Technology and Maritime Law before spending seven years working at a senior level in the claims department of a leading International Group P&I Club.
Nick has worked in the London insurance and reinsurance market for the last 20 years. Immediately prior to his involvement with Seacurus, Nick was Divisional Director of Financial Risks for QBE Europe, where he was responsible for the underwriting of financial guaranty insurance for shipping, aviation and property assets. Nick has a BSC (Hons) in International Shipping and Maritime Law from Plymouth University and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Surrey.

Account Manager - Marine Special Risks
After graduating, Denis worked for a firm of marine insurance brokers in London for two and a half years, dealing not only with general broking but also heading the Claims and Legal department. During this period he acquired considerable experience in a range of different types of both marine and non-marine insurance. Prior to that, Denis completed two Law degrees: an LL.B in Law and German at the University of Bristol, followed by an LL.M (Maritime Law) at the University of Southampton. Denis speaks English, Russian and German.
In 2012 Angus completed four years of study and was awarded a First Class BA (Hons) degree in Business with Marketing from Northumbria University. As an undergraduate Angus spent his summers working for an offshore shipbrokers gaining considerable exposure to the marine industry; this developed into a desire to pursue a career in marine insurance. Angus is now seeking to gain further qualifications through The Chartered Insurance Institute.
For the last 13 years Joanne has worked as a Financial Administrator in the retail and banking sectors. Prior to joining Seacurus as Financial Controller, Joanne was the Finance Manager at Newcastle Building Society where she was responsible for financial reporting, authorisation of payments, allocation of funds and customer liaison for the third party arm of the business.
Following a decade as a navigation officer in the merchant navy, Steven Jones graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a BSc (Hons) in Maritime Studies before moving into fraud investigations and maritime security. He has worked within the Risk Management department of a leading International Group P&I Club and advised a number of high profile shipping companies and organisations on risk and security.
